In 2016, MKS relied on other suppliers for the labels needed before pails could be shipped to our customers. Outside label suppliers require large minimum order quantities, which often required MKS to order more labels than needed, creating unnecessary waste when labels weren’t used. As our customer base grew and the number of SKUs produced skyrocketed, ordering from outside producers became more costly than effective. Wanting to vertically integrate and control as many components in-house as possible, MKS purchased a Xeikon 3030 digital printer in 2018 and began the HTL process. With much success in the industry, the need for labels grew tremendously, resulting in much-needed expansions. In 2021, the existing printer was upgraded with a higher speed printing program, and we purchased a second printer. Then again, in 2023, both printers were upgraded again to print labels at a speedier pace.
MKS is proud to say we are the only plastics manufacturer in the industry who prints our own heat transfer labels in-house, offering very low minimum order requirements with inexpensive setup costs. Our goal is to deliver high-quality prints with vibrant colors and sharp details, that in the end, creates eye-catching heat transfer labels at a competitive rate.
